Nightwing and Cyborg Join The Cast Of “Injustice: Gods Among Us”

Just over a month ago I made a post with news about the upcoming DC fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us. Back then only six of what appears to be 24 characters were announced. Two more characters – Nightwing and Cyborg – were added to the existing six, having been announced recently at the glorious ComicCon. Make sure to check out the new trailer from ComicCon below (Nightwing and Cyborg appear a little after halfway through the video).

I’m just saying this: I called it. Maybe it’s because they’re extremely obvious choices, but it always feels great to do the “I told you so” dance to your friends. Cyborg seemed logical since they’re really focusing on him in the New 52 Justice League, so there were no doubts there. Nightwing, however, was more of a hopeful. How could they have the Bat without his original Boy Wonder? And now tag-team matches – if they have them – will be that much sweeter.

There are still plenty of characters to be announced, but for now we’ve got to keep guessing and hoping. As far as further character speculation goes, Ed Boon, the creative director at NetherRealm Studios, tweeted the following image on June 28th:

Obviously, Nightwing has already been announced, but all of these were expected to be announced at ComicCon. Green Arrow, Aquaman, and Deathstroke seem like some obvious characters concerning they each have their own series in the New 52, but part of me is left wondering why they were teased and then not shown along with Nightwing and Cyborg.

Anyhow, which characters do you think should be included in Injustice?
