2013 Holiday Hours

17th December

Catching Up With Marc!

4th October

Jeez, it’s been awhile huh? You know how life gets, you got things to do, places to be, and the little things fall through the cracks… wow that was way more depressing than anticipated. Time to bring back the energy. LET’S TALK ABOUT COMICS THEN SHALL WE?

This post is basically a little bit of house-keeping to make up for all the news I haven’t been able to comment on, and god have I desperately wanted to comment on these things. I’ll just run through the big stuff and give my opinion so that the next post can be on something more current, and not heavily discussed already!

BEN AFFLECK IS BATMAN

I know everyone and their dog has had a comment about this, mostly negative, but honestly, I’ve decided to take the very unpopular stance of “wait and see”. The way things … Read More »

Writing on The Wall: June 2013 Edition

13th June

Wow, been a while since I did this! I guess I’ll have to get a new picture for these posts, huh?

At any rate, I’m happy to report that the dust has settled, the shelves are up and the art is on the wall in our new home at 8364 Rue Labarre in Montreal.

It’s been an undertaking to get it all put together, but I’m happy to say it’s going well and starting to feel like home. We’ve seen a lot of old friends and new faces since we moved and I’d like to extend a hearty “Thank You” to all who have visited!

So what now? Well, I’d like to give back a bit to those who’ve supported us through the move, the only way I know how: With Free Stuff!

I’m happy to announce that every week The … Read More »

May 22nd Is The Big Day!

16th May

Hey Guys!

So, this is it! At 8pm May 15th we closed the doors at the St Jean location and are prepping to spend the next few days moving everything over to our new home at 8364 Labarre.

It’s going to take us a couple of days to get the new place up to snuff so as of May 22nd, we will be all set to go in our brand new, custom designed space at 8364 Labarre (H4P 2E7) in Montreal, just South of the 40, East of Decarie and right next to De La Savane Metro.

The West has been so very good to us, and we can’t thank everyone enough for all the support they’ve given us over the last few years as we tried to build a better mousetrap with our store.

The next phase of that starts now … Read More »

Moving Day is upon us!

15th May

For those of you that don’t know yet, but I assume you do considering you’re reading this, The 4th Wall will be closing its Pointe-Claire doors today, May 15th, and heading on over to the new location. That being said, fear not! Although it will take us a few days to get it all set up, shiny and new and ready for you guys, The 4th Wall will be opening its doors again for you all on May 22nd at 8364 Labarre!

I know that coming to The 4th Wall has become a monthly, weekly, or even daily routine for many of us. I also know that a lot of you are concerned about how far The 4th is going to be from your houses, but I want to reassure you that it isn’t so bad really. The new location … Read More »

Writing On The Wall – Nov 23, 2012

23rd November

News and notes on upcoming events and products from The 4th Wall!

The news this week seems to center all around Variant covers. Marvel has some exciting ones for Amazing Spider-Man #700 and DC has, well, a LOT for Justice League of America #1 in December.

Writing on the Wall – Nov 16th, 2012

16th November

News and notes on upcoming events and products from The 4th Wall!

The store is hopping lately as we officially being the push towards Christmas! Yep, ready or not here it comes, and Mid-November always seemed to me like a good time to get the Holiday ball rolling. Halloween is over and we’ve got clear sailing in the Merriest of Seasons.

I love the holiday season because it brings in so many people who haven’t visited us before. Be it looking for a specific gift for someone, or looking for something a little different, or even just fun stocking-stuffers, chances are we have it. It’s always so much fun helping people find those gifts, but I’ll say this: if you need something ordered, sooner is better than later! It takes us minimum 2 weeks to get special orders in, so to guarantee … Read More »

Girls Night at The 4th Wall – Nov 15, 2012

22nd October

As a girl in Geek Culture I can understand how hard it can be to find other women that enjoy the same things as you do. There is an unspoken bond between us comic book girls that forms as soon as we meet one another. The problem is, opportunities to find other women who love Batgirl, or the Hulk as much as you can be few and far between.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a fun, safe environment to bond with other women about a love for comics? This is why I would like to happily invite you to the very first Girls Night at The 4th Wall.

Much like a book club, this will be an evening that gives you a chance to bond with other women about comics and geek culture, listen to recommendations and learn about books … Read More »

4 More DC New 52 Series Get The Axe

21st October

In yet another attempt to thin the ranks of underachieving New 52 titles, DC has declared that the series Blue Beetle, Grifter, Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E., and Legion Lost will all see their seventeenth and final issues in January. Their cancellation will make way for the new Justice League of America,Threshold, and yet another Superman series by Scott Snyder (Batman) and Jim Lee (Justice League), all set for 2013.

Now, I know a few people (including myself) who are pretty upset to see Blue Beetle getting the axe. There’s just something about Jamie arguing with himself (the scarab/suit) that makes for an entertaining comic, so I’m glad that DC has seen fit to keep Blue Beetle around for the new cosmic series Threshold. This new series may not be news to everyone, but in wake of hearing … Read More »
